The ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kasaragod is coming under the jurisdiction of Kasaragod district with four taluks . Kasaragod district has the agro-ecological zone, ICAR classification - No.8 - Humid to Semi Arid Western Ghats and Karnataka Plateau with features as the west coast, a narrow belt of land of about 10-25 km wide, boarding the Arabian sea and lying to the west of the western ghats. Krishi Vigyan Kendra (K.V.K) Thrissur was established under Kerala Agricultural University in 2004. Thrissur district the cultural capital of Kerala, has seven taluks under its jurisdiction. The district comes under humid tropical agro-ecological zone and receives an average annual rainfall of 2500 mm. The geographical area of the district is 3032 sq km with 1.54 lakh ha of arable land, characterized by laterite, sandy loam, clayey and alluvial soil.
